The rise of Craigslist and other free or low-cost advertising platforms have made it much more affordable for companies to post job ads. The down-side of this trend is that job ads have become more informal, are being put together without much thought, and are posted by companies that you probably should pass on. Here are the top 10 signs that you should steer clear of a job ad.

10. The company perks include the use of a Toyota Prius

9. The company is a 1-person startup, your are not offered a salary, and you don’t have a good attorney

8. You are offered an unpaid internship

7. You are offered an internship, but expected to have 5 years or more of experience

6. You are offered an entry-level salary, but expected to do the work of an expert

5. The job requires 5 years of experience in a technology that became available 8 months ago

4. The job ad contains the word “iPad” either in the title or the description

3. The job ad is looking for a “guru”

2. The job ad is looking for a “rock star” (unless you will not be working on “Guitar Hero” or “Rock Star”)

1. The job title includes the word “Principle”
