About

I am a software development professional with, how scary is that, 30 years of development experience. My first application was a MIDI-enabled editor for a Korg digital effects device, running on the Commodore C64. It never made it to the market, but it got me a T-shirt and a nice letter from the German Korg distributor, and it got me hooked on coding. That was in 1985.

Many years of commercial software development followed. I successfully ran my own consulting business in Austria until 1994. Since then I have focussed on two areas – Financial Services on one hand, and the Web on the other hand. I have been leading technical teams in multi-million Dollar development and implementation projects across the United States for 18 years now, and I have decided to stay in the Boston area professionally.

After this many years in this industry, with about half of the time spent in Europe, and the 2nd half spent in the US, I have a few stories to tell. Stories about what worked and what didn’t work. Not all of my stories are related to software development – but they are all true :-)!

Christian – I just read your blog about the experience at RMV for registering that trailer. It was very insightful. I am in the process of buying a boat and I need to register the trailer so I’ll keep you updated on how that process went.
