Pool Disaster

Our pool installer, Clearwater Pools, used TigerFlex Hose 1.5 inch for all inground plumbing. Bad choice. 13 years later, carpenter ants have perforated the hoses so that they leak like sieves.

Many leaks

We found a local pool contractor who was able to tunnel under the concrete deck and replace the return lines and skimmer line. No cutting, no concrete patches. While we were at it, I also had the 13 year old liner replaced.

The skimmer box connector is accessible
Our contractor managed to dig this tunnel and connect a rigid pipe to the return jet!
New liner in, water flowing

Total cost of the project: $7,200 for a new liner, 2 return lines, bottom drain, and skimmer line re-plumbed and reconnected, plus a few hundred for a useless shoveling crew that I hired off of Craigslist.
